Dr. Paton Lewis Jr, 95, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away peacefully, his wife at his side, on February 26, 2024. He was born in Union, NJ. Paton was the beloved husband of 59 years to Judith, a devoted father to sons, Paton (Maria Winkler) and William (Deborah Derringer), and a caring brother to sister, Marilyn Keough (Bernard). He was preceded in death by his parents, Paton Lewis Sr (Grace Muir), sister Cecilia and brother William. He is survived by a niece, Barbara Ensberg, a nephew, Donald Lewis and grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Paton graduated from Scarsdale High School in NY, where he excelled in football and baseball, and pursued higher education at Lehigh University and the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his DDS and his Orthodontic Degree. He served in the US Navy as a dentist aboard the USS Grand Canyon during the Korean War. After practicing Dentistry in New York for several years, Paton moved to MN where he established his Orthodontic practice at Apache Plaza Medical Building in St. Anthony, MN, practicing for 36 years. He also served as the President of the MN Orthodontic Society.

A friend to many, Paton was an avid reader, and enjoyed building projects at the family lake home, water skiing and snow skiing with his sons. He also enjoyed golf, tennis, hiking, and volunteering at church activities. He and his wife developed life long friendships with several Bible Study groups. He worshipped at Trinity Episcopal in Park Rapids, MN, Mt. Olivet Church in Minneapolis, and via live streaming, at Christ Church Cathedral in Plano, TX.

A Family Memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be sent to Christ Church Cathedral, 4550 Legacy Dr., Plano, TX, (Rwandan Mission Project). The Bradshaw Funeral Home in White Bear Lake, MN, is assisting with the arrangements.
