Patreva Chitwood Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 18, 2025.
Our beloved Patreva Dorinne Dobbs Chitwood commenced her extraordinary life on July 31, 1929, delivered to Agnes (St. Germain) and William Reward Dobbs in Olympia, WA. She left this world in the arms of angels on July 21, 2025.

She was a brilliant student at South Bay Grange School where she made many wonderful friends. Later, while employed at the popular XXX Root Beer restaurant, she met the love of her life, Jack Curtis Chitwood, married him, and promptly left to begin their amazing life together.

They travelled the US and Europe during Jack's early years in the Army, eventually returning to South Bay where Pat created a beautiful home to raise their lively children. Pat was the ultimate hostess and met everyone who entered with open arms, food, drink, and happiness.

Her life's greatest joy came from her children Michael, Marta, and Mark, her grandchildren, Ryan, Heather, and Nicole, Bryan, and her great grandchildren Rian, Cole, Rylie, Curtis, and Silas, and great-great grandchild Teddy.

Some of her favorite activities included all manner of games including pinocle, Solitaire, and Scrabble. She and Jack enjoyed their twice-yearly trips to Reno. She never lost her love of casinos and in later years appreciated her children continuing to take her.

Pat was a brilliant entrepreneur, and her successful endeavors include operating South Bay Floral with her mother Agnes, realtor school, creating and selling ceramics on her home kiln, Delightful Diversion home parties, and Mary Kay cosmetics. She was a talented seamstress who made much of their clothing and could even do upholstery.

She had an amazing green thumb and used her bountiful garden for her delicious home-cooked meals, baking, and still had enough to share with everyone she knew.

Pat was authentic and true to her inner self while respecting the feelings and opinions of everyone. Her warm comforting voice helped many through their darkest times. Her spark ignited joy in every event, including her legendary Christmas Eve parties.

Pat left an enduring mark on those she encountered and her impact on countless lives cannot be measured. Her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those her knew her.

Patreva, we bid you farewell with love and gratitude, knowing that you are now at peace in Jack's loving arms, where you have always longed to be.
