Patricia Brown Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 14, 2024.
Patricia Ellen-Christina Brown, also known as Patti, passed away in her home on February 12, 2024, in Florence, South Carolina, at the age of 64. She was born on June 6, 1959, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Donald and Norma (Weber) Otto.

Patti was a beloved wife to William Brown, a cherished mother to Delaney and Noah, and the favorite "Jemmy" of Kaisley Hope. She was a caring, loving, and generous soul throughout her life. Patti's journey of compassion began when she answered the call and entered the Mercy School of Nursing right after graduating high school in 1977. For 12 years, she worked as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse at Mercy Hospital, committing herself to the care of vulnerable premature babies and their mothers. Patti later continued her career at McLeod Regional Medical Center, where she served for 34 years, touching the lives of countless families.

Patti's dedication and selflessness were deeply appreciated by her coworkers, who were by her bedside during her final days, just as she had always been there for them. Her colleagues will forever remember her zeal for life and unwavering commitment to duty and be grateful for the kindness and love she showed them. Patti was also adored by many nieces and nephews, who held a special place in her heart.

Born the third daughter of five girls, Patti remained a Pittsburgher at heart, even though she spent most of her adult life in South Carolina. She will always be remembered as a humble and caring woman, someone who always put others' needs ahead of her own.

Patti's educational journey began at St. Joseph's Catholic School and continued at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School. She further pursued her passion for nursing at the Mercy School of Nursing.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, located at 2536 Hoffmeyer Road in Florence, SC
at 2pm Thursday, February 15, 2024.

Patti's compassionate spirit and lifelong dedication to caring for others will be deeply missed by her family, friends, coworkers, and all those whose lives she touched. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let Perpetual Light shine upon her. May her precious soul rest in peace.

I love you so much, Aunt Patti. Though I still feel your spirit, I miss your smiling face, your sparkling eyes, and your contagious laughter. I will never forget your kindness and generosity. I always admired your gentle spirt and quiet confidence. Rest easy, my dear Aunt Patti. May you rest in peace with all the little souls you comforted and cradled in their final moments. May God cradle you in the palm of His hand.

The family name of Otto at OLSH was always special. Enjoyed each of the girls as well as mom and dad. Please know that all of you are being remembered by the Felician Sisters who taught at St. Joe's and OLSH.

Missing you terribly. The bed time sock battles, our favorite tv shows, the giant panda bear wallpaper. Just don´t forget "save me a place "!

I always knew when Patti walked in my patient´s delivery room, that the baby was in great hands.

I worked in Labor and Delivery at McLeod from 2012-2018 and did many deliveries with Patti. She was always smiling and amazing. She was the nurse for my 33 week son in 2003 who is now 20 and was also the nurse for my, now 4.5 year old adopted daughter who was a micropreemie. Her joyful countenance was impossible to ignore and so contagious. She will be sorely missed.

William, Delaney, and Noah, I am truly sorry for the loss of a beautiful soul whom I had the honor to meet in this life. Patti had such a sweet spirit about her. May God wrap his loving arms around each of you during this time and the days that follow and give you the peace that surpasses all understanding. I love each of you and will keep you each in my prayers. Lisa Sanderson Stordy (Webster Manor)

Patti was such a beautiful soul. Her laugh was so truly unique and will be what I hold in my heart when I think of her. As the eldest of girl cousins, I will always remember her amazing presence and determination. I am blessed to have known our very special Patti since childhood! She is at peace!
