HURST -- Patricia "Trish" Laudt Cappa, 50, of Hurst passed away Firday, Sept. 19, 2008, at a Dallas hospital. Patty had been fighting a lifelong battle against cystic fibrosis and was awaiting a double-lung transplant when she took her last breath. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Hospital Chapel. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, www.cff.org. Patty was born in July 1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Erwin "Bud" and Agnes Laudt. Despite her ever-present illness, Patty was a loving mom, wife and friend, who had a gift for decorating, collecting antiques and selling Avon. She had a deep abiding love for butterflies and animals, especially her dogs. Patty wanted to extend special thanks to all her family, friends, doctors and all the medical staff that have cared for and comforted her during the many years fighting CF, and most especially this past year as the effects of her disease became more exhausting and overwhelming. She also wanted to urge everyone to please participate in an organ donation program, so lives can be saved and quality of life enhanced. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors: Her husband, Jon Cappa;, her son, Austin Cappa, who they adopted as an infant in Romania; her mother, Agnes Laudt Zitnick; brother, Gary Laudt; sister, Debbie Malone; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
