Patricia H. (Pitz) Crowley
Patricia H. (Pitz) Crowley, 92, of La Crosse died at home surrounded by her family Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021.
She was born March 8, 1928, to William and Mary (Bogner) Pitz and was the youngest of five children. Pat met the love of her life, Daniel Crowley, at her parent's tavern, "Your Uncle's Place," and they were married June 20, 1951.
Pat's passions were Faith, Family and Football. She was born and raised in La Crosse and went to grade school at St. Wenceslaus Parish School. She graduated from Aquinas High School in 1945, where she made many lifelong friends and attended all of her class reunions. She was an active member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish and the Catholic Daughters of America (CDA).
Her faith was apparent in everything she said and did and her generosity was second to none. Pat had many beloved friends whom she treasured and adored. She embraced the Crowley "Irish" heritage and loved celebrating St. Patrick's Day! Pat will be remembered for her love of sending greeting cards and never forgot anyone's birthday, anniversary or special occasion.
Pat loved cooking, baking, and entertaining. Many of the wonderful recipes she used were passed down through the generations and shared across the country with friends and family. Pat's home was always open to all. When you came to visit, she always welcomed you with open arms, a cup of coffee, and selections of her delicious homemade desserts.
She spoiled her grandchildren and great-grandchildren by always having a special treat for them when they came to visit or making their favorite dessert for their birthdays. The smiles on their faces were priceless.
Pat was a passionate Green Bay Packers fan. Every Sunday during football season she would wear her Packers sweatshirt, get her snacks ready and sit down to cheer on the Packers.
Pat is survived by daughter, Mary Trussoni; sons, Thomas (Debra) and Daniel (Bonnie Herder); grandchildren, Tara Crowley, Robert (Melissa) Crowley, John (Becky) Crowley, Steven (Amanda) Crowley, Derrek Trussoni, Vincente Trussoni, Jason (Tiffany) Herder; great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Josie, James, Owen, Carmen and Nicolás. She is also survived by her sister, Esther Fransen; her sister-in-law, Patricia (James) Crews; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her fur companion, Buc Wheat the beagle.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel; sisters, Irene (Gerald) Hoskins, Ruth (Sylvester) Fuchsteiner; brother, Raymond "Bud" (Joyce) Pitz; brother-in-law, Arnold (Chuck) Fransen; sister-in-law, Mary Crowley; and son-in-law, Edward Trussoni.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 131 South Losey Blvd., La Crosse. Fr. William Dhein will officiate with internment to be held in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum in the Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse. Family and friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at Monday church. The Mass will be live streamed at https://www.bsplacrosse.org/.
Masks and responsible social distancing per COVID-19 guidelines will be required.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request donations in Pat's name to: Aquinas Catholic Schools Foundation, 315 South 11th St., La Crosse, Wis., 54601; St. Lawrence Seminary, 301 Church St., Mt. Calvary, Wis., 53057; or a charity of your preference.

Dear Mary and Family
Your Mother was such a beautiful woman both inside and out! She welcomed me into the Cook clan so warmly and continued to show genuine interest in our growing family and experiences! We loved when she and Mary would stay with us for the Packer shareholders meetings in Green Bay!
She will be truly missed by so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all! Fondly, Jane

Dear Danny, Tom, and Mary Therese - Your mother was always my favorite of the older generation Wadden/Crowley-in-law clan (and she was the youngest of the bunch) . Pat was so beautiful! She was kind to the core, always cheerful, and her voice was so smooth and melodic. Sending you much love and comfort on her passing. I will always remember her fondly.

So sorry to learn of her death. I grew up at 413 N 23rd St. Your family was right across the alley from us. The Crowley´s were wonderful neighbors and your Mom fixed my hair for special occasions. I´ve thought of her many times. My sympathy to you.
