PATRICIA LOUISE (QUICK, SCHIAVONE) DeChristopher

Patricia L. DeChristopher, of Maumee, Ohio, died peacefully at the age of 81, Monday, May 17, 2021 under the care of Hospice of NW Ohio. She was born December 21, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio and was the oldest daughter of Harold and Charlotte Quick. Patricia was a member of the 1957 graduating class of Waite High School. In 1958, she went on to marry Joseph H. Schiavone, and together nurtured and raised two children for the preceding 26 years.

She worked at Jobst Institute for her entire adult life, retiring in 1991. Her employment started with an entry-level position and advanced to become the personal assistant to President/Owner, Caroline Jobst. Pat loved travelling especially to Ft. Meyers and Venice, Florida and eventually she became an annual snowbird. She loved the process of moving, unpacking, packing, and organizing as she moved nearly 30 times after meeting and marrying her second husband of 27 years, John DeChristopher. She loved sewing, quilting, playing cards with family and friends at the Senior Center, volunteering, shopping, gambling and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes Football team.

Surviving to cherish their loving mother are children, Joseph M. Schiavone (Deann) and Patti Lynn Jacobs (Bob); and her stepson, David DeChristopher; and step daughter-in-law, Ellen DeChristopher; her five grandchildren, Allie Batey (Ben), Kari Boos, (Brian), Keli Jacobs, Joseph (Nick) Schiavone, (Fiancé Amber Thomas) and Jaimee Schiavone (Joshua Sabatino); and her four great- grandchildren, Xavier Batey, Eve Batey, Reagan Boos and Owen Boos. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Rosemary Gunner; and brother-in-law, Raymond (Tip Mathews); and several nieces; and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Joseph Schiavone in 1984; her second husband, John DeChristopher in 2017; her step-son, Daniel DeChristopher; sisters, Barbara Quick and Judy Domini (Robert); brother, James Quick (Phyllis), and Jack Quick (Linda); and several Schiavone and DeChristopher brother and sister-in-laws.

Pat donated her body to UTMC so there will be no visitation. A memorial Mass will be held in her honor on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at St. John's XXIII in Perrysburg, Ohio with Fr. Herbert Weber officiating. Family visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. and Mass at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Pat's name to The Maumee Senior Center and the American Diabetes Association.
