Patricia Field Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 29, 2023.
Patricia Ann Field, age 84, of Baltimore, Md. died on May 4, 2023, in her home, after a lengthy illness. Born in Maryville, Mo, her father's military career launched Patricia's life long love of travel, art, culture, and music. Exploring Japan at the age of 10 after school until early evening with her beloved and cherished brother Michael 12, the two navigated the streets alone using their well-honed language skills learning about the world together...like Jem and Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird they stuck together through thick and thin. The family transferred to Arlington, Va. where she completed high school and embarked on her CIA career initially as a secretary rising to the rank of Operations Officer. She spent over twenty years abroad stationed in England, France, and Germany, fulfilling her insatiable love of adventure and learning and cultivating life time friendships. She retired in 1990 and settled in Baltimore's Cultural District, the Mount Vernon Square neighborhood where she quickly immersed herself in the community and befriended all, living the Felliniesque life that so suited her. She gave to all unconditionally and will be remembered for her intellect, irreverence, wit, humor, kindness, and devotion to LeRoy, her cat and all her past pets.
She is survived by her niece Caroline Carson and nephew Michael Field of Hawaii.

Pat brought joy, laughs and a smile every day I lived at 700 Cathedral St as her neighbor and friend. Being a part of her vibrant life was a gift. Although our visits became less frequent after I moved away in 1995 I continued to think of her fondly and checked in for a visit when I returned to Maryland. I´m grateful she was a big part of my life for the 5 years I lived in her building.
