Patricia "Patty" Speranza Fischer

July 17, 1935 - February 23, 2025

If you knew Patty Fischer, you knew she loved family, faith, and a good deal at Aldi-in that order. At 89 years young, Patty left this world with a heart full of love and a lifetime of stories, reuniting in heaven with her beloved husband of 59 years, Raymond Fischer.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she spent her life raising an incredible family, cheering (and occasionally yelling) at Cleveland sports teams, and making sure everyone had a great meal.

She leaves behind her five children-who she would say were her greatest legacy: Marybeth Wuenschel (Mark), Kim Healy (James), Judi Klausmeyer (Kurt), Chris Fischer (Kelly), and Rhea Shoop (Charlie). Her 13 grandkids, Barbra Butera, Chris Healy (Katherine), Faith Wuenschel, Hanna Healy (Jack), Peter Wuenschel, Michael Fischer, Rachel Fischer, David Wuenschel, Jacob Shoop, Anna Shoop, Brooke Fischer, Jonathan Shoop, and Emme Shoop. and five great-grandkids - Asher Rico, Hayden Rico, Owen Healy, Mila Healy and Poppy Melsheimer kept her on her toes and ensured there was never a dull moment at family gatherings.

She is also survived by her sisters, Karen McCullough and Terry Svat (Jerry), and sister-in-law, Joan McPolland,

Patty's work life was just as colorful as she was. She met Ray while selling appliances at GE, proving that true love can start over a good fridge. She later opened Plum Perfect, a charming store that gave her another excuse to chat with just about everyone. She spent years giving back through Meals on Wheels, Christ Child Society, The Sisters of Notre Dame and Where 2 or More Gather, where she helped spread faith and hope to those who needed it most.

A proud Cleveland sports fan, Patty loved the "Indians," the Cavaliers (Go Cavs!), and never lost hope for the Browns (even when she probably should have). She also enjoys tennis and golf. Patty loved knitting, attending daily Mass at St. Gabriel, cooking delicious Italian food and baking cookies.

December 8th, Patty was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She spent her final months making us laugh harder, cry deeper, and hug each other tighter. She reminded us what truly matters-faith, family, and making sure we all get to heaven together someday.

We'll celebrate Patty's life with a funeral Mass Monday, March 3rd at 2:30 pm CST at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney, TX.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Where 2 or More Gather Ministries, where she served as a board member to a cause that meant the world to her.

We invite you to share your favorite stories and memories of Patty, as her spirit will live on in all of us.

Dear Pat.

You are loved, honored and greatly missed by everyone who´d crossed paths with you in any capacity. I love and miss you both as my best friend´s mother and then as my own very special friend, selfishly wishing we had many more of our Thursday evening dinner outings together at the Pub:)

Love you

I feel so honored and blessed to have known Pat. She was a beautiful person inside and out. We met at St. Gabriel´s Women´s Bible Study and I was so happy she, Marybeth´s mother, was in my small group. She was a great talker and provided such good insight. I felt so comfortable sharing with her. She was a very giving person. She was a wonderful friend and mother who will be missed.

Marybeth, my heart goes out to you and your sweet family over the lose of your mom. I will miss not seeing her at 2 pm adoration and daily mass. She was certainly a beautiful example of what a Christian should be and I am so blessed to have known her from your prayer group when I first moved to McKinney. What a blessing she was for your family and all the beautiful memories you will have to remember now and in the future.

Mom, I miss you so much. I know you are with Jesus because you chose to believe in and receive his love for you. PRAISE GOD. Thank you, Lord, for intervening and taking her before she suffered.
