HAWKINS, Patricia Arlene
August 16, 1940 - April 20, 2015
Pat passed away peacefully in her 75th year in the company of loved ones. She was the eldest dear sister of Lois Parker, Georgia Shea and Betty VanderAa and will be missed by brothers-in-law Dan Parker and Jim Shea. Nieces, Cathy Smith and Erica Parker, as well as nephew George Crowder, will remember Pat as their cherished aunt. Predeceased by her parents, George and Madeline Hawkins and nephew Scott VanderAa. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at St. Joseph's Care Unit, whose care and compassion was unparallelled. Pat was a member of the air force reserve while growing up in Windsor and retired from civil service in London. She then lived close to family in Guelph until her passing. Pat loved to go on cruises, especially to the Caribbean and her sense of adventure led her to travel to California, New Orleans, Vancouver and across the seas to the Mediterranean. She took pleasure in golf and treasured her cats. Pat was all heart concerning animals and nature, often showing compassion and altruism in her support of shelters and wildlife organizations. Pat will be dearly missed for her spark, independence and fun- loving nature. A Graveside Service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, hwy 3, Oldcastle at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Family and friends of family are invited to a Reception at Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 143 on Marrentette to share stories and laughter.
