Patricia (nee Prososki) Hetsler

Patricia Hetsler (nee Prososki) passed away peacefully one day before her 80th birthday. Pat had been bravely fighting leukemia for eight months which caused her unexpected death on a family vacation in Florida. She was surrounded by her family as heaven welcomed her home. Pat was born on August 9, 1938 in Lorain, Ohio to Anthony "Andy" and Elizabeth "Bess" Prososki. She grew up in North Ridgeville and helped with the family catering business, Bess and Andy's. She graduated from North Ridgeville High School in 1956. At just 19 years old, she married her high school sweetheart, Paul Hetsler. She was employed at Rini Rego/Giant Eagle as a produce clerk with 30 years of service. Pat had a servant's heart as she was always doing for others. From inviting families to elaborate dinners in her home to rocking babies in the church nursery, you'd always find Pat busy giving her time and talents to others. Pat was a member of the Elyria Community Church of the Nazarene with 40 plus years of perfect attendance in Sunday School and Worship Service. She was a long standing choir member, church hospitality and evangelism, and welcoming new families. Pat met people and they immediately became friends, not only at church, but serving in voting booths, Salvation Army, serving on the Heaven Train, and prepared meals for that staff. Pat's biggest pride was her family. She loved celebrating life's events in the life of her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or extended church family. You could always spot Pat in the front row with a camera in her hand and a smile on her face. Pat has left a hole in her family that will never be filled, but her love will live on through her husband of 60 years Paul E.; her children, Rodney (Ruth) of Franklin Furnace, OH, Reggie (Jill) of Elyria, and Rachelle (Seth) Upton of Columbus; grandchildren Ryan, Shauna, Madyson, Emma, Kaden, Paige, Payton, and Andrew; great-grandchildren Nataleigh and Asa; siblings Harold Prososki of Avon Lake, Arlene (Roger) Looney of Oberlin, Audrey Mackewicz of North Ridgeville, and Charlotte Prososki of Wadsworth. She was preceded in death by her sister Sandy Schneider and parents Andy and Bess Prososki. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, August 17 at 11am at the Elyria Community Church of the Nazarene, 1107 Clemens Road, Elyria. Reverend George Gribben III, Pastor of the church, will officiate. Friends may call at the church 6-9pm Thursday and 10-11am Friday prior to the service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Busch Funeral Home, Elyria.
