Patricia Kaczmar Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 30, 2024.
Patricia Ann Kaczmar (neé Kucharski) of Shelby Township, Michigan, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, following complications from a stroke.

She is survived by her children Laurie (Andrew) Metanchuk of Wheaton, Illinois; Christine Kaczmar of Metamora, Michigan; Scott (Angela) Kaczmar of Shelby Township; and Mark (Kristina) Kaczmar of Sterling Heights, Michigan. She is also survived by grandchildren Peter, Drew, Cody, Austin, Cali, Christian and Breanna; as well as by her nephew Anthony. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Elsie Kucharski, and her brothers Richard Kucharski and Ronald (Colleen) Kucharski.

Aside from her family, Patti loved dogs, Christmas and sports. She often decorated multiple Christmas trees with her thousands of carefully collected ornaments. She had more holiday decorations than one could reasonably display. She was a huge sports fan. She loved all the Detroit teams, but especially the Red Wings. (If you've been to her house, you've seen the shrine in the living room). In the off-season, she marked-off days on the calendar with big black Xs, until preseason hockey began. She also cheered for all her grandchildren's college sports teams, and bought sweatshirts to represent, for each school.

She worked as a receptionist in her daughter Christine's digestive health practice for 12 years. She befriended many of the patients, during that time.

Patti was a tough woman, born and raised in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. She was funny, sarcastic, and kind. She appreciated a good joke, and even laughed at some on her last day. She was early, wherever she went, including to heaven.

A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Humane Society of Macomb, 11350 22 Mile Road, Utica, MI 48317.

I believe my earliest memory of Miss K. was when I was around 7 or 8 yrs old. She was giving me hot chocolate trying to " melt " an " ASTRO pop" from my teeth between innings at the ballfield!! I can still picture her in her tan shorts, white polo, and white sun visor! ( so many moons ago! ). Chris and I played ball together, ( Shelby/ Utica little league..and later on our travel league), for years....and Miss K, all the while, right there sunny, rainy, scorching hot or freezing cold..our " superfan" cheering us on. One of the nicest humans I've known in my life. My thoughts remain with her children, family, and friends , for their healing hearts and comfort knowing they will all unite again one day. Much love.

Pat and I shared almost 50 years of friendship, laughter and tears. My daughters referred to her as "Aunt Patti." We were family. I have so many memories of times shared over the years. I will miss the sound of her "machine gun" laughter, all those Christmas trees, Hallmark ornaments, and more, along with our long talks over coffee and tea. God bless you, dear friend! I will miss you forever!

My thoughts are with your family at this difficult time. I will forever remember your mom's beautiful smile and sassy personality.
