Patricia Barkley Kennedy

Patricia B. Kennedy, 85, of DeRuyter Lake, NY passed away after a short illness on June 15, 2025. Patricia was the consummate mother and lynchpin of the family. She was an avid bowler and golfer with an intense drive to win. She worked for both Catholic Charities and Loretto often earning less than she would give back to the community. She was born and raised in Fayetteville but spent all her summers and retirement on DeRuyter Lake where she met the love of her life, John. Her time with John and family along with countless friends at DeRuyter Lake was where she found happiness.

Patricia is predeceased by her husband John, her parents, Walter and Irene Barkley and her sister Peg Sherman. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Barry) Compagnoni, son, John Michael (Kimberly) Kennedy, Jr., seven grandchildren; Jack (Jen), Kate (Noah), Madeline, Ryan, Maggie, Emma, and Molly, two great grandchildren Maya and Ben, and her sister Joanne Cornelison.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 29, 2025 at 10am at St Lawrence Church, 1672 Cortland St, DeRuyter, NY 13052. Calling hours will be held prior to the service at 9:00. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
