Patricia Linden Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 5 to Dec. 6, 2014.
Linden Patricia Ruth (Coleman) Linden, 81, of Midlothian, VA, was taken peacefully into the arms of her angels on November 29, 2014. She was at her home and surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born in the South End of Columbus, Ohio, an area now known as German Village, on January 19, 1933 to Lucille and Edward Coleman. She married Jean O. Linden on June 22, 1957 and they enjoyed 57 years of loving friendship, companionship and spiritual growth. They shared a passion for exploration and adventure, traveling frequently. Pat's response to any invitation for adventure, was always "where's my hat?". Through her husband's career, they moved often, developing many lifelong friendships along the way. She approached life and relationships with enthusiasm and a compassionate spirit and considered herself blessed every day, frequently reflecting on "how a poor girl from the South End of Columbus has been so fortunate". Pat was among the first women to graduate from The Ohio State University's radiology technician training program in 1953, when x-ray technology was in its infancy. Throughout her life, she was a faithful servant to people in need, whether through tithe, through advice and counsel, or through the love of her profession, working nights and weekends while also raising her four children. Pat was an avid reader as well as a devout student and seeker of spiritual knowledge. She was confident in her beliefs and welcomed the continuation of her journey. Her legacy will be the spiritual knowledge and positive faith that she quietly and confidently imparted to all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Jean O. Linden; her children, Christina Linden Fisher of Culpeper, VA, J. Paul Linden (Maria) of Greensboro, NC, Steven Linden (Gordean) of Hailey, ID, Robert Linden (Tara) of Concord, NC; her grandchildren, Shane, Melissa and James of Greensboro, NC and McKenzie and Andrew of Concord, NC; her brother and sister-in-law, (and lifelong companions) Edward and Patricia Coleman of Delaware, OH; nieces and nephews, and many, many dear friends. A memorial service is planned in January at the headquarters of the Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE) in Virginia Beach, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Pat's memory to The Salvation Army or to the ARE Library Fund at 67th St. and Atlantic Avenue, Virginia Beach, VA 23451.

Today I was looking through my photos and found one of Pat and me. It was so nice to think about our time in a study group. Pat was a very dear friend.
