Patricia Gail McCarthy

Patricia G. McCarthy, [nee Poland] 85, of Fredericksburg, Texas, died suddenly, Wednesday September 19, 2024.

Patricia was born on March 17, 1939 to Bernard T. and Anna C. [Schwindinger] Poland, in Rahway, New Jersey.

Patricia married Howard J. McCarthy in October, 1959.

Prior to Texas, Patricia and Howard called Rockford, Illinois home for 45 years, where they were parishioners and active members of Holy Family Catholic Church.

After raising their children, Patricia went to work for Ingersoll Cutting Tool Company for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. McCarthy; her father; her mother; her four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her three children, Kathi of Arlington Heights, Illinois; Kelly (Mark) Hallman of Fredericksburg, Texas; Chip (Lisa) of Long Beach, California; her three grandsons Cole McCarthy, Bennett McCarthy of Los Angeles, California and Jude McCarthy of Brooklyn, New York. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary, visitation and Catholic funeral mass will be held October 3rd, starting at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church, Rockford, Illinois followed by a lunch reception. At a later date, Patricia will be interred at Fort Sam Houston Memorial Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas, with her beloved husband Howard. The family suggests in lieu of flowers for those who desire, donations to Methodist Hill Country Hospice, 808 Reuben Street, Fredericksburg, Texas 78624, be made in her name.
