Patricia McGinnis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 11, 2017.
Patricia (Pat) McGinnis was born April 19, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Louise and Robert Metz. She left this life on December 9, 2017 in Banning, California, from complications due to kidney failure. She is survived by her husband of 31 years Lawrence (Larry) McGinnis and her son David Keyon. She graduated from high school in 1963, married her first husband John Keyon and moved to San Bernardino, where she gave birth to David. After the dissolution of that marriage, she met and married Al Gunn, who passed away in 1981. She met and married Larry in April of 1986.
Learning was important to her and she took classes throughout her life. Patricia worked more than 35 years for the County of San Bernardino, doing many different jobs, but most of her time was spent in the hospital collection office. She enjoyed her work and especially enjoyed the friends that she made during her time with the County.
She was easy to talk to and made friends easily. It was said that she could stand in line at the bank and within minutes she would know the life story of everyone in line with her. Pat loved to travel and visited most of the states and many countries of the world. She had a tremendous sense of humor, always entertaining those around her. She was an accomplished tournament poker player, winning many tournaments in her area. She will be missed by her many friends and family. A memorial will be held at the clubhouse of Serrano del Vista, in Banning on January 13, 2018 at 3:00pm until 6:00pm.
