Patricia Mills Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 3, 2025.
Patricia Margaret Mills passed into God's loving hands on January 31, 2024, in Freeport, New York, at the age of 86.

Born on February 17, 1937, in Glendale, New York, Patricia was the cherished daughter of the late Helen and Milton Radler. She was preceded in death by her three devoted brothers: Robert, Gene, and Milton.

Patricia shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband of 56 years, Michael Peter Mills. Together, they raised four children: Michael Mills II (Emily), Kenneth Zimmer, Bryan Zimmer, and Beth Leone. Patricia's legacy continues through her grandchildren-Jeffrey Leone; Michael Leone (Maddie); Sara Giovino (AJ); Michael Mills III; and Matthew Mills-and her great-grandchildren: Rowan Leone, Jax Leone, Dillon Leone, Hayes Giovino, Runa Giovino, and born after her passing, Luca Leone and Syren Giovino. She also leaves behind many dear nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Patricia found immense joy in her family. She loved hosting gatherings at their home in Freeport-celebrating holidays and Sunday dinners surrounded by those she cherished most. Her warmth and hospitality created countless treasured memories for all who knew her.

Patricia was a woman of deep faith and an active member of Saint Christopher's Roman Catholic Church in Baldwin. She was known for her generosity, loyalty, and compassion toward family, friends, and neighbors alike.

An avid sports enthusiast, Patricia enjoyed football, golf, tennis, and baseball, and was a lifelong fan of the NY Jets and the NY Mets. A lover of travel, she especially treasured time spent with her husband exploring the Virgin Islands-a destination that became a beloved retreat for their family.

Relatives and friends are invited to honor Patricia's life at a funeral mass to be celebrated on January 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church located at 490 Arnold Mill Road in Woodstock, Georgia.

As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests donations may be made in Patricia's memory to the Alzheimer's Association at https://www.alz.org/.

Patricia will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to those around her. May her memory bring comfort to all who were blessed to know her.

I couldn´t have asked for a better guide in life, a strong supporter of what ever you chose to do, someone who loved her family more than life itself....Mom, I miss you terribly. I am thankful to have had you as my mother for all of the years God let us have you. You are missed and were loved by many. I know you are here with us all, not in life , but in spirit...I have my signs that let me know you are around . You and Pop were soul mates, no doubt, and he would do anything for his Patty, he loved you to the moon and back, it was quite evident.
Mom, thank you for the life you gave us and for the life you made for us. I am so blessed that Janis had the opportunity to meet you and for you to know that I had found my girl, she loved you too. Mom, please stop in on occasion and say hello...I´ll know. Love you always

Patty was the BEST mother-in-law any new bride could wish for! From the day I first met Patty, she treated me like I was always part of the family. Patty was my 2nd mother and one of my best friends. She was fun, full of life and laughter, generous, and a great listener. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and wife to Pop. I miss her dearly and am fortunate that I had her in my life for 28 years. I know she is now an angel with the Lord watching over us all now. She will forever be in my heart. I love and miss you so much Mom. Rest in peace.
