It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Pat on May 1, 2015 at the age of 91 years. Eternally youthful, well- versed and progressive in her thinking, our remarkable and selfless mother was deeply rooted in faith and family. Her elegance, humility, patience, and legendary hospitality served as a constant touchstone. On quiet afternoons, her children would sneak down to the water's edge for candid advice that was meted out with great reserve and forethought but always before the 5 p.m. cocktail hour! She leaves behind Jim (Nanaimo); Joe (Vancouver); Mary Ann (Kelowna); Mark (Carolyn) (Calgary); BJ (Tanya) (Toronto); Paul (Andrea) (Calgary) and Trisha (Ken Webster) (Kelowna and Vancouver). She also leaves behind godson Jim (Claire) Burns (Kelowna). She was predeceased by Dr. Brian J. Murphy in 2010. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family for a bench in John Dupuis Park, Casa Loma, Kelowna in the name of Brian and Pat Murphy. A Prayer and Memorial Service will be held at Springfield Funeral Home in Kelowna, BC, Friday, May 22, 2015 at 7 p.m.; a Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Church in Kelowna, BC.
