We are deeply saddened to learn of Dr. O'Connor's death - she was very important in our lives when we had young children. She diagnosed our two-day old son with meningitis and helped save his life; she helped me with her emotional support through my father's illness and death like no one else did. She was a great woman and a great doctor. We always called her "the Great One." . Her decision to retire from U of M made our own decision to move to Atlanta that much easier. We never had a pediatrician to equal her throughout our children's growing up. I will never forget her. There was never anyone like her and I can't imagine there ever will be.

TO THE WONDERFUL O'CONNOR FAMILY:
I know she is in heaven watching over all of us and our families that are with her. She was the most wonderful person and Doctor my family had ever met. What an inspiration and great role model she was for all of us. May God Rest Her Soul and Her Memory Be Eternal. She was my son's Pediatrician I will never forget her. It has been a long time, but I have been asking about her here and there since I still work for the UMHS. I thought about her many times and prayed for her wherever she may be....please be well and remember her she is in a better place, I truly loved her and she did all of us.

My son was very ill and she loved and cared for him. After several losses my son was born. She came to my room and said "I heard the king was born" She knew how much my son was wanted and how I worried he would not be born. She loved us both and I loved her. Her mother Dorothy was at Hillside Terrace for many years and I cared for her. I have searched for Dr. O'Connor for many years. My son is now 24 and studying for his masters. He still remembers Dr. Pat. To her family, we love her.

I worked with Dr. O'Connor in the Outpatient Pediatric Clinic when I was a medical student at The University of Michigan. I remember her fondly. She was bright, compassionate, empathetic and an excellent diagnostician with a great bedside manner with the kids and parents. She was one of my role models for my interactions with patients (especially children) in my practice.

My condolences to Dr. O'Connor's family. My two children were her patients at University of Michigan pediatric's clinic. Dr. O'Connor's skills worked favorably in several critical health situations for our children who are now 26 and 23 years old.
