Salem – Patricia “Paddy” M. (O’Connell) Zegarowski, age 67, exited this life peacefully on November 15, 2019 surrounded by those who loved her, and whom she loved, “higher than the stars”. Born in Peabody, on October 28, 1952 to John F. O’Connell and Barbara (Richardson) O ’Connell. Paddy lived in Salem her whole life, most recently in the Salem Willows. She attended St. Chritienn’s School and attended Mansfield Beauty Academy and became a hairdresser. Her true and greatest passion was her family, three children, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her unconditional love and compassion for them became her life, for each and every one of them, for each and every day.
Paddy was a street smart romantic woman of the 60’s, devoted to peace and love. She was constantly running down a dream, revolving around those she loved. She married Kenneth Zegarowski in 1971, they became inseparable for the next fifty years. I feel so fortunate to have loved and been loved in return, to my love at first sight with the love for half a center. I will forever chase her in my dreams.
Patch, as she was nicknamed, loved music, dancing, rock concerts, the beach, full moons, swimming, red sunsets, cooking and Bill W. Summers at Good Harbor, Lake Winnipesaukee and Cape Cod, as well as autumns at North Conway with her family were cherished memories of a life time.
Paddy loved the holidays from Easter to Christmas, and had a deep caring spirit and would always try and help out those that she loved and those she came across that needed help. She loved watching her sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren play football, basketball and baseball from little league to college.
Paddy struggled to protect all in her family as she tried to maintain a blance between peace and serenity, and the many trials and tribulations that exist in many families throughout her lifetime. She had a loving spiritual soul that will be honored by those she helped and loved her, far beyond her passing.
Paddy is survived by her loving husband Kenneth Zegarowski , her children Zach Zegarowski of Hamilton, Zeban Zegarowski of Beverly, Zara Zegarowski of Salem, her grandchildren Michael Carter Williams, Patrice Gianareles, Samantha Valente, Masey Zegarowski, Max Zegarowski, Marcus Zegarowski, Zaben Zegarowski Jr, Colby Zegarowski and Jayden Zegarowski and her great grandchildren Vinny, George, Geo and Charleigh.
Services are private at the request of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, Salem. For more information or online guestbook please visit www.MurphyFuneralHome.com or call 978-744-0497.
