Patricia A. Vacarelli

Vacarelli, Patricia A. TROY Patricia A. Vacarelli, age 66, of Troy passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany, Patricia was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marion Burke Carroll and the loving wife of SSG Frank C Vacarelli Jr., USA, Retired also of Troy. Patricia graduated from Lansingburgh High School and the Albany School of Practical Nursing. She was employed at St. Mary's Hospital and Albany Medical Center. Patricia was very proud to be a Blue Star Mother. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Troy. In addition to her husband Frank, Patricia is also survived by her children, Kristine R. Vacarelli and Katrina E. Vacarelli, both of North Greenbush and Capt. Erik S. (Christine) Vacarelli, USAF, stationed at Pope Field N.C. She was the very proud grandmother of Anthony N. Vacarelli, Victoria M. McBride, Karlton X. Canty and Megan E. Vacarelli. Patricia was the sister of John Carroll, and the late Joseph M. Carroll and Elizabeth MacHattie. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Patricia will be held on Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Those who wish to pay their respects are encouraged to come directly to the church Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. At the family's request there are no viewing hours. Interment will follow directly at Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery in Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, Patricia's family requests that memorial contributions be may be made to the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 or the Mohawk Hudson River Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.
