Born: Nov. 3, 1934; in BelvidereDied: Dec. 22, 2006; in Madison, Wis.She and her husband owned Trio Home Center in Marengo for many years MARENGO - Patricia J. Zickuhr, 72, a lifelong resident of Marengo, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Care Center in Madison, Wis., after a courageous battle with cancer.She was born Nov. 3, 1934, in Belvidere, to Joseph and Helena (Sheahan) Schneider. On June 8, 1955, she married Gerald H. Zickuhr at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marengo.She and her husband owned Trio Home Center in Marengo for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed her home, cooking for her family, and feeding the squirrels in her yard.Survivors include her children, Deborah (Tom) Krueger of Middleton, Wis., Gerald J. (Tami) Zickuhr of Roscoe and Thomas P. Zickuhr of Marengo; four granddaughters, Katie and Emily Krueger, and Ashley and Tess Zickuhr; her sister, Jeannine (Greg) Johnson of Rockford; her nieces and nephew, Kelly Johnson of Chicago, Stephanie Martin of South Beloit, Carl (Jenn) Martin of Clinton, Wis., and Sara Anderson of Union; and her sister-in-law, Kathy (Carl) Martin of Caledonia.She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, in 1986; her infant son, Robert; and her parents.The visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Highway, Marengo. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at Sacred Heart Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo. The Rev. Richard Russo will officiate.Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.Memorials made in her name would be appreciated to the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Care Center, 5395 E. My grandma was one of the kindest, generest, and strongest people I knew. I will never forget her. Like Tess, I sill have that rocking chair and so does my sister. She cared very much about others. She will be greatly missed.
