Patrick Bare Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 19 to Sep. 20, 2010.
BARE, Patrick James October, 13, 1955- September, 16, 2010 Pat Bare lost his courageous struggle with cancer and went to be with the Lord while surrounded by many of his family and friends onSeptember, 16, 2010. Pat was born to Robert Bare and Josephine (Rexroad) Bare in Spokane, Washington. He was the third of four children. The eldest son. Pat was respected and loved by all who knew him. He left a lastingimpression on anyone who was lucky enough to spend time with him. He was a true Spokanite. Having been born and raised in Spokane, hegraduated from Shadle Park High School where he was a talented football player, swimmer and baseball player. He joined the Navy soon aftergraduation. He later married and was blessed with a son and a daughter. He met Lori Major in 1985 and after seven years of being married in their hearts they made it official and married amongst family and friends in 1992. Lori and Pat spent 25 years laughing and loving together! Together they raised four daughters: Heather Marie Bare of Spokane, Michelle Rhiannon (Major) Wilkes of Davenport, Jenna Lynn Major of Spokane, and Kimberly Anne (Kammy) Major of Spokane. Pat leaves this world with many accomplishments. He was a SystemsEngineer at Avista Corp. He developed many friendships at Avista and will surely be missed there. Pat leaves behind many people who will miss him, including a son-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers- and sisters-in-law, mother and father-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins and friends that were family. There are too many to list by name. Please know who you are and that he loved you as you loved him. He was the kind of Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend that only the luckiest of people on this Earth get to have in their life. Always a calm presence, his love for life was contagious! He had apassion for baseball that brought many people into his life and as a result formed friendships that became lifelong! To all of you, know that you were loved and appreciated. Pat's most recent passion in life was the cabin he was building with his family. It is unfortunate that he did not see it to completion. The cabin is a place where his family and friends will gather forever to remember Pat and his gentle ways, his love of dogs (he always owned at least one), his love for the outdoors and the numerous stories about him that make you "laugh out loud". Pat was preceded in death by both of his parents, his son Thomas James (T.J.) who passed at age 12, and brother-in-law Daniel Lien. He is survived by sisters Janet (Jan) and husband Carl (Gus) Nordean, Margaret (Peggy) Lien, and brother Greg Bare all of Spokane. He also has two grandchildren Haleigh Meachum, age 12 and Phillip (P.J.) Wilkes, age 1. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 2 pm at the funeral home with burial and reception to follow. I met Pat Bare over 20 years ago through good friends Steve Sleizer and Barry Folsom. I was invited to play softball with a team called the "Athletics". I have many great memories of those years I played softball with Pat and his brother Greg. Our team played many tournaments together, and thats where many of those memories were made. Pat was always great fun to be around in these settings. I could go on and on. What I guess I'm trying to say is that my life is enriched by calling Pat Bare a friend. "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" was a tune we sang as a team at different times, you are now home Pat. God Bless Lori, Greg and the rest of the family.

Pat was a wonderful man, I use to work with him at avista and I know how proud he was of his family, Especially Heather. What I remember the most about pat is he was never to busy to share his wonderful smile with people. Even when the computer system was all a mess... God bless
