Scott Cairncross

I was young when my family lived in Ottawa. I remember meeting Pat at several functions, Army Survey picnics being one. The one thing I can remember most is the smile and fond recollections my father had whenever he mentioned Pat's name in many a story. My sympathies to all.

Hello: My sister (Tina Cairncross) passed this on to me, and I did'nt want to miss expressing my sympathy to the family. I too remember Paddy very fondly. Before I was old enough to drink, we use to slip over to Hull, with friends, where it always seemed to be easier to get into clubs, and of course the age was younger to get in. One night we went to the Chaudiere I believe, and as it was practice, they did not ask for ID. at the door, only at the table. WE all sat down, and when the waiter came to the table, it was Paddy. Of course he knew how old I was. I ordered a drink, and he just smiled and never asked me for my ID. I never ordered another drink that evening. Like my sister, I remember him being very nice looking, and he always appeared happy.
We are thinking of you today Paddy,
Thinking of the past.
Picturing you in our memories,
Just as we saw you last.
Your family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same.
But as God calls you one by one,
That chain will link again.
Most Sincerely
Tina Cairncross

Greetings and sympathies from the Cairncross family! My mother Florence asked me to let you know that she has fond memories of the years spent at RCE in Ottawa and the visits our families had together. My father (Buck) passed away in January of 2005, and like Paddy, he too had just reached his 81st birthday, and he and mom had also been married 59 years. As a young girl, I remember Paddy being a "handsome man in uniform" and one of dad's good friends. Love to the family.

Pat was the only person in my life that I allowed to call me "Tommy". He was very supportive when I needed someone many years ago. Thanks Pat "for the good times" See you all in Saskatoon.

How are you doing Pat? "Couldn't be better. 100 per cent!" We'll sure miss you. Our condolences to Shirley, Linda, Tom, Susan, Kathleen, and the rest of the Vancouver/Hawaii Beechinor clan. Fondly, his sister Peg and neice Pat.

My husband worked with Paddy at Jerico Beach in the late 70's. I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the family on their loss.

Where to start - Pat and Shirley took us in when Dad was just starting out - we all spent summers together at Norway Bay - when I was old enough, Pat told the bouncer at the Chaudiere to look after me - they moved away and years later Linda and I got to know each other again in Washington DC of all places. She always spoke about Uncle Pat and his refusal to give up - said he was going to stick around until Nurse Linda became Dr Linda. Stories about travelling around Ireland. So many memories - too many to write down - all of them good.

As we read your obituary Pat, a flood of memories comes rushing back of the GOOD TIMES we all shared at "The Farm" in Birch Bay and later as we walked the beach at Crescent Beach. The "To Do List" that awaited our arrival. You made our lives more interesting and taught us the true meaning of faith. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with the Richardson clan. We admire your courage and fortitude, and you will always have a special place in our hearts. Rest in Peace, dear Brother-in-Law. The Richardsons
