Patrick J. "Pat" Hammer, age 53, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo after a lifelong struggle with alcoholism. He was born on March 4, 1967, to Richard and Carolyn (Watson) Hammer in Toledo, OH. Pat was a talented musician throughout his life. He played the guitar and in high school was in a garage band called "The Free Flyers". He was a gearhead and loved to work on cars. Pat liked NASCAR and enjoyed fishing. His smile and spirit will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Hammer. Left to cherish Pat's memory is his mom, Carolyn Hammer; siblings, Ruthann (John) Hammer, Caroline Hammer, Lori (Bill) Finn, Ralph Hammer, and Mike (Wendy) Hammer; children, Robbie Hall, James (Kaylynn) Hammer, and Jessica (Jesse) Reau; grandchildren, Jade Hall, Michael and Miah Hammer; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Friday, February 26, 2021, from 3 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. (For the safety of the Hammer family and their guests, masks are required with social distancing).
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
