Patrick Gilbert Jones

Patrick Gilbert Jones went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2024. He was born in Bucklin, Kansas on April 23, 1960, to Charles E. Jones and Karol I. Sherman (Gordon). Pat met his wife Loreen in 1990 and they were married in 1992 in Denver, Colorado. God blessed Pat with 6 amazing children and 3 equally amazing grandchildren whom he loved very much.

Pat was a hard-working self-trained mechanic, having worked for many years on everything from semi-trailers to shipping containers. Ultimately, he worked for Union Pacific Railroad repairing locomotives, a job he enjoyed very much. He had an amazing ability to figure out a way to fix even the most complex mechanical issues. Sadly, Pat suffered a career-ending injury while working at the railroad which ultimately led to a plethora of health issues. Pat faced chronic pain and multiple medical procedures with the utmost strength and courage.

Pat enjoyed all things mechanical and could often be found tinkering in his garage. Years ago, he built a motorcycle trike out of Volkswagen Beetle. It was a sight to be seen and he enjoyed giving rides to anyone brave enough to climb onboard. In later years, Pat took up cycling and would ride his bicycle to and from work over 60 miles a day. Pat was an avid learner and would spend hours upon hours researching any subject he was interested in. He loved to listen to audio books or watch YouTube videos to absorb all he could learn about a topic of interest. Pat had recently decided to take up gold panning as his hobby of choice. Unfortunately, he passed away before he had the opportunity to achieve this goal, but you can bet he knew everything there was to know about how to pan for gold in the Colorado wilderness. Most importantly, Pat was a man of God who studied and understood the Word of God. He always welcomed a good theological discussion.

Pat is survived by his wife Loreen, sons Ian (Heather), Samuel, Robert and Joseph, and daughters Eve and Doramay. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles, and his mother, Karol. He is further survived by grandchildren Deacon Laymon, Zoey Laymon and Elijah Self, his sister Jodi (Marty) Behee and her children Brianna (Jason) Seipel and Keenan Behee, uncles Richard and Donne Sherman, and countless other relatives and friends.

There will be a memorial service for Pat in Mullinville, Kansas at Hillcrest Cemetery on August 3, 2024, at 10:00 am. There will also be a memorial service in Northglenn, Colorado on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Northglenn Christian Church, 1800 E. 105th Place, Northglenn, CO 80233.
