Patrick Lucey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 5, 2025.
Patrick Kim Lucey passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on May 28, 2025. Born in McMinnville, OR on March 12th, 1952, he grew up and lived in Salem for most of his life, graduating from North Salem High School in 1970 as a proud Viking Alum. Known to everyone as Kim or Kimco, he had a quiet personality with a quick wit and dry sense of humor. After graduating from high school, he briefly attended Mt. Hood Community College before infamously hitchhiking his way down to the University of Oregon and graduating with a degree in Business and a special place in his heart for his beloved Ducks.

Shortly after graduating, he started a long and successful career as a Framing Contractor & running his company, Kimco Construction for over 30 years while also serving as a Project Manager for Sharpcor Construction.

He was greatly loved by & will be missed by his wife of 46 years Jeanie (Frey), son Jake (Natalie), and grandchildren Meah, Jackson, & Adeline. Kim's friends will share lasting memories of all the parties hosted in the barn & specifically Duck games.

His memory will continue to guide us with the work ethic, knowledge, and friendship that he provided through his years with us. Although he is gone from our sights, he will never be gone from our hearts and memories.

If he could provide a parting wish, it would be that everyone shouted "Go Ducks!" in his honor. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations are made to the American Cancer Society or Willamette Vital Health.

A celebration of life will be held in his memory at his favorite place, his barn, on Saturday July 19th at 1:00 PM at 8150 Wheatland Rd N, Keizer OR 97303.

Kim was a great friend we had many good times together growing up in Salem.
My brother and I spent a lot of time with Kim growing up with lots of memories and fun times that I still remember that we had with Kim in junior high and high school. I am honored to say Kim was my friend.

I´m so saddened to hear this news and know that Jeanie and family must be devastated. Bad on me for waiting so long to rekindle our early friendship from the early eighties and missing out on those special get together in "The Barn". We´ll all miss the dry wit but we´ll also that smile as we remember the good times we shared - especially as we cheer on our beloved Ducks - Sgo Ducks
A Giant Sequoia will be planted on your behalf Kim - we love you

So sorry to learn of Kim's passing. Kim is a part of some very good memories, including him crushing me in football at Waldo Jr. High in the 8th grade. My condolences to you, Jeanie, and your family. I certainly enjoyed getting reaquainted with you through our jobs with the school district a few years back, and really appreciated you and Kim hosting the get-togethers for our HS reunions.
