Patrick Morin, 61, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 3 pm at Grace Fellowship Church in Lampasas.
Patrick grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1979. While in high school, Patrick began working as a mechanic, developing his skills and fostering his life-long love for all types of machinery and tow trucks. He owned City Automotive in Lampasas, which started as a mechanic shop and began offering tow services, before turning exclusively into a wrecker service.
In 2011, Patrick reconnected with his old high school friend, Mitzi Henderson. He quickly realized that what he was missing in his life was a beautiful woman 6 inches taller than him, so he set out to make her his wife. Patrick remarried Mitzi in 2012, gaining two additional children and four grandchildren through marriage.
Patrick fulfilled his dream of living on the water when he bought his lake house in Kingsland. He and Mitzi hosted many friend and family gatherings, providing endless boat and jet ski rides for grandchildren, and shared many sweet mornings with coffee on the deck overlooking the water together.
In 2019, he and Mitzi moved to Buchanan Dam and together filled their time improving their house, and their land, and digging a giant hole in their backyard, affectionately nicknamed "the money pit." The dream still lives on that maybe, one day, the money pit will hold water and finally turn into the livestock tank they dreamed about. This house continued to be a gathering place for family, where Patrick's grill left guests happily stuffed and with plenty of leftovers. He was also kept busy when his grandchildren visited keeping their go-cart gassed up and running, guiding target practice, and even building a horse hotel for his granddaughter's horse to come visit as well.
Patrick was working full-time in his towing service at the time of his death. He loved for his wife, Mitzi to ride along with him and frequently took his Schnauzer, Chivo, who acted as head of security. When he wasn't out on calls, he could be found in his shop, keeping his equipment and tools organized and in top shape. He was frequently sighted, both at home and on the job in his big white coveralls, also called his "Michelin Man" suit. Patrick never made a purchase if the item could be bartered for, leading to many great swaps and stories.
Patrick was preceded in death by his infant brother, Christopher; his father, John G. Morin, and his brother Johnny.
Patrick leaves behind his wife, Mitzi of Buchanan Dam; his son, Kristopher (Mylea) of Burnet, TX and his daughter, Bethany Hair (Michael) of Astoria, Oregon. He is also survived by his step children with Mitzi, Stevi Avery (Matt) of Temple, Nick Stripling (Christy) of Jarrell and their children, Amelia, Acie, and Alice Avery, and Jacie Stripling. He also is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Morin of Lampasas; sister, Mary Ann Ramirez of Lampasas; brother, Pete Morin (Terrie) of Fountain, Colorado; sister, Katherine Cartwright (Dwain) of Lampasas, and James Morin of Fort Worth, TX.

Pat was a loyal friend. I appreciate all he did for me through the years I lived in Lampasas. Pat was always ready to help when I needed it whether it was automotive advice or spreading dirt in my yard with his skidsteer. I was stunned to hear of his passing. Seems so surreal. I suppose it goes to show how we should always be ready. Hope to see you again someday old friend.

I’m not sure what to say! I’m just now hearing of Pat’s passing and I am heartbroken. I have not seen him in several years but I want his family to know that back in the day Pat was always there whenever anybody in Lampasas needed help with anything. I’m speaking of the late 80’s early 90’s when y’all had the shop here in lampasas. When Patty Metheny was ill we had a benefit for her. He helped set up the huge tent in the square. He helped do all the cooking. He helped countless others with towing and car repairs. A truly beloved member of our community who had a huge heart ❤.
