Patrick J. Ruffner

Patrick J. Ruffner a longtime resident of Palatine Prayers for Patrick J. Ruffner, 70, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine, proceeding to St. Theresa Catholic Church, 465 N. Benton St., Palatine, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at the funeral home. Born March 26, 1938, in Chicago, he died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights. Patrick had worked for Northwest Community Hospital for more than 20 years and was a very active member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, where he participated in several of the churches ministries. Survivors include his children, Diane Mattocks, Colleen O'Brien and Patrick K. (Joanne) Ruffner; grandchildren, Jamie, Melanie and Kristin Mattocks, Derek O'Brien and Maddie Ruffner; brother, Michael (Charlene) Ruffner; sister, Katie Ruffner; and three nephews and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clair "Red" and Agnes Ruffner; three brothers; and two nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society.
