Patrick C. Straub

Patrick C. Straub, 33, of 405 Main Street, Kersey, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018, on SR 219 in Jefferson County, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

He was born April 3, 1985, in Erie, son of Charles and Patricia Wise Straub, who survive, of Wattsburg, Pa.

He was a graduate of Wattsburg High School, Class of 2003 and Mercyhurst North East Police Academy. Pat was a police officer for the City of DuBois and Sandy Township Police Departments.

On June 2, 2011, in the Bahamas, Pat married Bridget M. Herbstritt, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Ella Mae Straub at home; a brother, Michael K. Straub of Erie; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Joan Gillen Herbstritt of Kersey; two sisters-in-law, Jacinda Hoffman (David) and Monica Pasquinelli (Ian Cohen); a brother-in-law, Jesse Herbstritt (Alicia); and by nieces and nephews.

Pat enjoyed competitive target shooting. He loved his job as a police officer and he especially loved his wife and daughter.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Sacred Heart Parish Center on Friday, September 21, 2018, at 12:00 p.m., with the Rev. Ross Miceli officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, September 20, 2018, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to a favorite children's charity.
