Patsy Renfro Akans

Patsy "Pat" Renfro Akans - Age 82 passed away on March 3, 2023 at home with her family by her side. Pat was a long-time member of Clear Springs Baptist Church in Mascot, where she enjoyed being a VBS Director, Sunday school teacher and choir member. She liked to sew, work in her yard, plant flowers, read and spend time cleaning her home. Pat loved being with her family and friends. For many years, Pat worked at Renfro Construction Company and operated A&R Transport, a liquid asphalt hauling and trucking business. Preceded in death by father, J.V. Renfro and mother, Pearl Webber Renfro; in-laws, George and Cynthia Akans, Sr.; brothers-in-law Harold Hickman and Bill Jacobsen. Survived by loving husband of sixty-four years, George Akans, Jr.; children, Jeff (Doris) Akans, Tracey (David) Johnson and granddaughter Josie Johnson; siblings, Juanita Hickman, Bob (Jill) Renfro, Brenda (Van) Cameron; Roma Renfro (J.V.'S spouse); sister-in-law Katherine Akans Jacobsen as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family would like to express gratitude to the wonderful caregivers for their compassion and care for Pat. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, March 6, 2023, at Bridges Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 7:00 PM with Dr. Allen England and Rev. Hartsell McCurry officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 PM on Tuesday March 7, 2023 for a 1:00 PM interment at Clear Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 3709 Clear Springs Road, Mascot, TN 37806.
