Patsy Marie Davis Brumley

Patsy was born to Royce and Louise Davis at her grandmother's house in Mount Sylvan, Texas, on Aug. 6, 1933. She attended Tyler schools, Tyler Junior College and received her teaching degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, Class of 1954. Patsy started her 32-year teaching career at New London Elementary School in New London, Texas. Patsy met her future husband, Bill, in 1951 and kept up a written correspondence with him for four years while he served with the Air Force in Europe. Upon his return, they wed in a double ceremony with her sister Virginia and Bob Baker on July 3, 1955, just as the sisters' grandparents had done in 1900.

California was their destination for a honeymoon and where they decided to put down roots. Patsy continued her teaching career in the Bay Area, finishing at Highlands and then Silverwood Elementary Schools in Concord in 1994.

Patsy was predeceased by her firstborn, Anthony Eugene; her granddaughter, Kelly; and by her husband of 58 years, Bill.

She is survived by her cherished children, Cindy, Greg, Tammy and Debby. Adored grandmother to Brandon, Ashley, Shannon, Jennifer and Kevin. Beloved great-grandmother to Bradley, Brandon and Joey.

Also mourning her loss is her sister, Virginia Baker (Bob), of Tyler, Texas; and brother, Charles Davis (Barbara), of Bullard, Texas. She will be missed by her husband's siblings, Christine Horvath, Ed (Nancy) Brumley, Marcella (Bob) Langley and Grace Nunes, along with their nieces and nephews and close friends.

Patsy was an active member of Concord United Methodist Church for over 60 years, and an active member of Marvin United Methodist Church in Tyler, Texas, since her childhood.

Patsy's greatest joys were her faith, family, music, travels and teaching. She loved singing in her church choir and loved watching her basketball team, the Warriors. Patsy's life was rich with teaching, whether it was in a school setting, leading Bible studies and confirmation courses for youth, piano lessons or teaching her family how to love and comfort her on her journey to the Lord.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate her live on Aug. 18 at Concord United Methodist, 1645 West St., in Concord, at 11 a.m.
