Patsy Norris Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 3, 2011.
Ms. Patsy J. Norris, age 68, died Sunday morning at NHC-Murfreesboro. A native of Chicago, IL, Patsy was the daughter of the late Arnold and Lorene Kirkwood Utley. She worked in the frangrance department for many years with Castner-Knott and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Patsy is passionately remembered by family for her love of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball franchise. "They were the only team she would watch," one family member recalls. She loved to read and had a talented eye and had for painting. She loved to take her family to Gatlinburg and destinations in Florida, passing along her love for nature and the outdoors. Other family members state, "she would do anything for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They recall her musical tastes in listening to the soundtracks of CATS and Phantom of the Opera, and anything from "traditional" country. Patsy was also known for her enjoyment of window shopping, but mostly for her respect of others. It is recalled that her greatest attribute was her ability and desire to show respect to other people... a lesson passed down for future generations to copy. She is survived by two daughters: Lisa Bragg of Smyrna, TN and Lori Tomlinson of Nashville; a brother: Johnny Wayne Utley of Goodlettesville, TN; 5 grandchildren: Brian Tomlinson, Donnie Tomlinson Jr, Brad Wallace, Joshua Mabry, and Lindsay Tomlinson; and 7 great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Tomlinson, Braden Tomlinson, Bailee Tomlinson, Brianna Tomlinson, Eli Tomlinson, Colton Covert, and Cameron Covert. The family will celebrate Patsy's life with private services. You may share condolences with them at www.CremationSocietyofTN.com
