Patti Apelgren Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 1, 2024.
Patti Ann Apelgren, beloved mother and grandmother, left our world unexpectedly on May 10.

Born November 5, 1956, to Robert ("Bob") and Virginia Apelgren, Patti was raised in Pahokee and later North Palm Beach. A proud third generation family farmer, Patti ran their farm Apelgren Holdings along with her siblings.

Patti loved with her whole heart and soul. She never failed to stand up for what she knew was right and she respected and accepted all walks of life, especially those of the four legged and furry varieties.

Although there is no doubt she is at great peace reunited in spirit with all of her treasured fur babies, she will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her world and daughter Taylor; her "bestest fella" and grandson Jacob; brother Dallas, sister Mary Jane, son-in-law Mark; as well as all of her chosen family and many "kids" who were not her own, but referred to her as "Mama P." Patti was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Virginia Apelgren.

A celebration of life is planned for November 9 at 9am at Jupiter Beach (Beach Access 31). Animal causes were near and dear to Patti's heart and remain so even in spirit. In memory of Patti, please donate to an animal rescue group of your choice

Awh Patti ( my crazy lady ) ... You would laugh every time you called and I would answer " hello, my crazy lady " You were an amazing friend and confidant that I will always treasure ! Somehow we had this way of knowing when the other need a friend... I miss our chats and your advise and comfort so much... Our road trip to Coral Springs to bring Ellie home...your heart was so much happier from the moment you had Ellie in your arms ..I miss our diversions to art and craft shows buying everything except what we went for .. If I had a quarter for every time I have picked up the phone to call you ... Thank you for making such a huge difference in my life ( and many others) ... God has you in his arms but those of us that are fortunate enough to know you... We will always have you in our Hearts "LOVE YOU BIG" , crazy lady ... Miss you even more ...

I moved into my home on October 29, 1994. I met Patti that same weekend. She was the most amazing, funny and sweet neighbor. We were neighbors and friends ever since. We spent hours together on my back porch and in her backyard, laughing and scratching & cutting up! I will always treasure the fun and love we had together. She was always there with a smile or bowl of chicken soup or a hug, just when I needed one. She truly was a ray of sunshine! I will treasure our time together and the memories we made. She was beautiful, inside & out! I´ll miss my sweet animal whisperer - she charmed my dogs and birds. However, she was also very spiritual, so I know that she will be watching over me and mine until we see each other again!

You've been m.o.m. (my other mom) for 30 years. Taylor was my first best friend. We broke your window, cooked breakfast in the fireplace, & had a sleepovers in a tent on the porch. You rented us endless blockbuster movies & took us to the beach. Your love for us was boundless & unforgettable. Love you so.

Mama P, I didn't ever get the chance to meet you, but we talked through Taylor a few times. I know you were loved, had a huge light in you and loved all creatures. I'm glad you were in this world and created your daughter Taylor because she's one of my favorite humans on this planet. Sending hugs to everyone.

One beautiful day Patti and I rode out to Pahoke. We drove through the cane fields, ate the Cuban sandwich in the world, and stared at Lake Ochachobee. Later I bought a lottery ticket and won $1700! Not only was she a beautiful soul, but she brought good luck.

There are few people in the world who walk through it both as human and as an angel. Patti was one of those.
