FRIEDMAN, Patty Jordan-- in Palo Alto, Thursday, October 24, 2002, at the age of 84 1/2. Wife of the late Captain Malcolm C. Friedman, U.S. Navy, Retired former Commanding Officer of Moffett Field/and Headquarters PACCINQ Saigon, Vietnam and President of Security General Corp. Mother of Malcolm Friedman, Jr., of Houston, TX, Sauce Jo Adellman of Palm Springs, CA, Mel Padgett of Menlo Park, CA; Fran Vrooman of Atlanta, GA and Juliet Terry of Menlo Park, CA. Grandmother of 8, great-grandmother of 4. Beloved sister of Romeo Juliet Portis of Lepanto, AR. A native of Missouri. A 45 year resident of Los Gatos and also of Menlo Park, CA.
Patty was responsible for founding many orphanages in Vietnam. She was involved in refurbishing the hospital near Thans A Nuit airport in Saigon, Vietnam. Patty was also heavily involved with the Navy League and responsible for refurbishing the Officers Club at Moffett Field. Patty sponsored the parade of Christmas Trees and supported many charities and mission work. She loved landscaping, pouring concrete, bricklaying, decorating and golf.
The family is extremely grateful to Lytton Gardens of Palo Alto for her loving, excellent care during her illness. Our Mother would like to thank her beloved grandson Jordan Padgett for her beautiful coronation outfit and shoes.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral services, Thursday, October 31, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of ROLLER, HAPGOOD AND TINNEY, 980 Middlefield Rd., Palo Alto. Interment Golden Gate Nat'l Cemetery, San Bruno.
