Dear Paul, you were more than a brother-in-law to me - you were truly a "big" brother. I will never forget the wonderful time spent with you from when I was a little girl in grade school through my college years. Porsche rides, visits and house sitting at Andrew Angus Farms, driving your pink golf cart down Greenwich Avenue... I remember when you came up to my college and brought me and my friends out to lunch. You were such a gentle, thoughtful person. Now you are with my Mom and how she loved you as her own "Son"... Rest in peace, Paul. Love you.

There are no words . . . just a heavy heart. Paul was a people pleaser - and he did it well (I used to say "good" instead of "well" and he would always correct my grammar). He was a great listener when you needed a shoulder. I hope he was surrounded by love during his last days, knew he was thought of often, and will be remembered fondly - forever! Amen

To all of Pauls family and friends.
I knew Paul from Norwich. I was just talking about him today. We had great times especially in his Porsche. I remember one memorable drive home from Sugarbush he let Peter Paradise drive and they really scared me .Rt.100 is a twisting narrow road going back to the hill, it was snowing and I was terrified. I can't remember how many cars he went through. He would go home and get a new one so many weekends. He had that motorcycle. I wouldn't go for any rides. That was his Sr. Year. He was the only cadet to have a wig in a Norwich cut. He would shove his hair up under the wig and got away with it for quite a while. I forget who saw him putting it on to go back to the dorms. He had to get a haircut! Paul was a very kind giving person. I think everyone drove one of his Porsches! I have many fond memories of Paul. His service was on my birthday 8/23. I lost my Dad on July Ist. I only learned about Paul today which was my Dads Birthday he would have been 92.This is really sad news. Paul will be missed by his many friends, family and his pet family. Rest well my friend. mindy

Still missing you with all my heart! I get so sad when I can't pick up the phone, talk to Siri and send an email. I still talk to you all of the time but it is not the same. I wish you could tell me what to say at your funeral. It will come and I hope you will be happy with the service. I had a great dream about you where I was able to hold and hug you to help you in your passing. Have a great time there and hold a place when it is my turn! Say hi to Tex, Mary, Tommy, Jack, Amber and Saber. Just found out that my mom and dad got married in the same church as your sister Gail, and where Jane and Joan when to Sunday School in Bronxville. Ok, I feel better now because I feel like I just wrote to you. Now let's hope that no one but you see this:)

I only knew Paul a short time - when he was a sophomore he was on the Yearbook Staff at Norwich when I was editor. He was a tireless worker and a find for the staff. My condolences to his family. Jack Rosado, NU-1970

I'm so sad and sorry. Paul and I were both from Greenwich but didn't meet until 1970 in VT. We became fast friends, psychologists to each other and biology lab partners. Classic Paul: we had too much fun and got behind in class, so, we stole our rat out of the formaldehyde in the lab to work on it at the farm in Berlin - then forgot we left it in the trunk of his Porsche! The first of so many unforgettable adventures with someone so wise, kind and spirited...Who knew it would be the beginning of a lifetime friendship. I miss him terribly and he will live in my heart forever!

Paul was a classmate from Vermont College/Norwich. A fun and generous guy. Recall so many happy times laughing and enjoying life! I lost contact with Paul, and I am so happy to hear of his children and that he is a Grandfather. Paul was special..what else can I say. Carol Kelly ( Vermont College 1970-1972)

I am so sorry for your loss. Paul was one of the first people I met when I started at NU back in 1972. He always had a way to make me smile. His smile was contagious and he had so many wonderful friends. I have such great memories of Paul. Often times he would stop at Vermont College (where the NU girls were housed at the time) and offer me a ride to class at NU. Our ride to Northfield would be filled with interesting conversations. I know that your memories will remain close to your heart and please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Karen Marie Ahern Arel (NU '74) Wells, ME
