Paul D. Balcom

Paul D. Balcom of Barker, NY, husband of Alice (Ashton) Balcom, entered into rest Wednesday, April 16, 2008 in Inter Community Memorial Hospital, Newfane, NY. Born July 4, 1931 Niagara Falls, NY, son of the late Charles Balcom and Daisey Van-Luven. He moved here from the Youngstown area in 1969. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved farming. He was a member of the NRA. Retiring in 1994, he worked as a Heavy Equipment operator. He worked for the NYS Parks Dept. He married his wife, Alice Ashton, on October 21, 1967. Father of Pam Rosenfeld of Lockport, JR Jordan of Niagara Falls, NY, Ben Jordan of SC, William (Karen) Jordan of Barker, NY and the late Paul D. Balcom II. Brother of Lila Myres and Norma Brosnan, both of Youngstown, NY. He was predeceased by five brothers and one sister. He is also survived by several grandchildren, one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc., 1708 Pallister Ave., Barker, NY, Friday from 5-9 PM, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 AM.
