Paul "Bill" McPherson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 1, 2025.
Paul "Bill" McPherson, 79, of Chittenango, passed away peacefully, with his daughter by his side, on June 22, 2025. Paul was born in Uncasville, Connecticut on May 10, 1946 to the late Paul and Helen McPherson.

In his free time, Bill was very active, enjoying many outdoor activities such as biking, kayaking, golfing and sailing. Running was also a popular activity for Bill, as he was a member of the Roman Runners Club and ran the Boiler Maker many times over his lifetime. When relaxing, Bill was a big fan of horse racing, having attended racing events at Vernon Downs, Saratoga and even the Kentucky Derby with his wife Judy. Their favorite relaxing pastime though was taking vacations in many tropical locations! Regularly boarding a cruise ship or hopping on a plane to their 'One Happy Island', in Aruba, was where Bill and Judy very much enjoyed their days together. Oh, the stories they would tell of their adventures!

LET'S GO BUFFALO! There weren't many bigger Buffalo Bills fans, than Bill! He and his wife Judy would attend Bills training camps, had his morning coffee in his Bills mug, and his evening beer in his Bills koozie! He even had a Buffalo Bills Christmas Tree that was set up every year!

In Bill's later days, he enjoyed the quieter, peaceful life, watching out over the water from at his home on Oneida Lake. He very much enjoyed the visits from his sister and brother-in-law, reminiscing about the old days and fun times they had. He absolutely loved visits from his children and grandchildren. Listening intently when his son John spoke about his life in Montana, and smiling ear to ear when talking with his grandchildren and watching them grow.

He was predeceased by his wife, Judith Tomaselli, his parents, Paul and Helen McPherson and his sister Marlene.

He is survived by his son, John McPherson; daughter, Amy (Jay) Dunn; sister Bonnie (Ronald) Espinosa; grandchildren, Aaron, Connie and Sammy; and nephews Matthew Espinosa, and Benjamin Espinosa.

The family would also like to send a special and heartfelt thank you to Bill's caregivers over the past few years. Caprica, Deb, Syn and Shannon, we couldn't have done it without you. You really cared about Bill and us, and it showed. He enjoyed all of your visits and talks and especially enjoyed sharing his favorite tv shows and snacks with you all! Thank you so much, we will be forever grateful.

Sherry and I were heartbroken to hear about Billy`s passing. Please accept our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
Billy was a wonderful person kind lovely and full of joy. He will definitely be missed.
Billy and Judy were more than friends to us; they were family. I cherish the memories we shared, our cruises together, the fun times in Vegas, and the trips to New York to visit them. Those moments will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Losing such good friends too soon is deeply sad, but I find comfort knowing that Billy and Judy are now reunited.....Until we meet again.

Many memories of our talks together while competing our weekly Roman Runner training runs.
Recently, our time spent together, were he convinced me and my wife to move to Port St Lucie. Sooo much fun over the years! RIP

John and I shared great times with Billy and Judy over the years, from visits in PT St Lucie, to many Buffalo Bill's training camps, to 1st Ward runs in Buffalo, vacationing in Bar Harbor and camping in Letchworth St Park. We miss them both and will hold on to our memories...

So sorry and sad to hear this news! Bill and Judy were great people to run with, especially the Roman Runner bus trips, and their own Boilermaker training runs. Also enjoyed sailing with them on Oneida Lake. Now Bill and Judy are back together, "fair winds and following seas".
