Paul Leopold Blodig, age 79, of Atchison, Kansas, died Sunday, January 9, 2022, in Overland Park, Kansas.
Paul will be cremated under the care and direction of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home and services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Benedict Parish. Cards may be sent to his family, addressed to: Marion Blodig, c/o Stratford Commons, 12340 Quivira Rd, Overland Park, Kansas 66213.
Paul was born on October 17, 1942, in Atchison, Kansas, the son of Joe and Roberta (Weber) Blodig. He graduated from Atchison County Community High School.
He and Marion Francis Wagner were united in marriage in February of 1965 at St. Patrick’s Church in Atchison.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Paul was always a hard worker and had very high standards for everything he did. He was a talented carpenter and woodworker, was a mechanic for TWA/American Airlines and enjoyed farming, trucking, cars and working in his shop.
He was a member of St. Benedict Parish in Atchison, Kansas and the Sacred Heart Council #723 of the Knights of Columbus.
Paul is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Marion Blodig (Overland Park, KS); two daughters, Stephanie Blodig (Dallas, TX), Julie Blodig (Prairie Village, KS); a son, Mitch Blodig (Atchison, KS); a brother, Bob Blodig and his wife Kathy (Princeton, IA); a sister, JoAnn Thompson (Topeka, KS); a grandson, Wes Blodig (Dallas, TX) and his beloved dog, Brady.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Glenn Noble.

My deepest sympathy to Marion, Stephanie, Julie, and Mitch. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I have had the pleasure and honor of knowing Paul and this lovely family for over 50 years. Such a beautiful and loving family. My heart is with all of you during this very sad time.
