Paul Brown Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 15, 2024.
Paul Richard Brown, aged 73, passed away on November 4, 2024, in Lake Jackson, Texas. Born on June 28, 1951, in Toronto, Canada, Paul moved to Texas where he spent the majority of his life contributing to his community and country.

Paul graduated from Aldine High School before earning a degree from the University of Houston. He proudly served in the Army for three years active duty followed by three years in the reserves, embodying the values of dedication and service.

Professionally, Paul excelled as a Senior Purchasing Agent before finding a passion for teaching, which he pursued as a substitute teacher after retirement. His interests were diverse and enriched his life greatly; he enjoyed playing the piano, engaging in various sports, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his beloved pets.

Paul's character was defined by his honesty, humility, and a strong moral code. He was a cherished member of his family, survived by his wife Deborah Brown; sons and daughters-in-law Anthony & Carly Brown, and Jason & Lisa Brown; daughter Caroline Beck; grandchildren Dani, Jacob, Ben, Lily, and Liam; and sister Shirley Cusack and brother-in-law Joe Cusack.

A service to honor Paul's life will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas, on November 23, 2024, at 10:00 am. He will be later interred at the VA Cemetery under the care of the Neptune Society. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Houston Public Library Foundation, a cause close to Paul's heart.

Paul was a favorite coworker who was fun to talk to. We shared a passion for baseball and I enjoyed his stories about Josh Beckett. He was the ultimate professional always willing to share his knowledge with an ability to break things down to simple terms. I have no doubt he was a great teacher...
Condolences from the Smith family, and our prayers.
