Dear Darla,
We are very sorry to read about the passing of Dave. We are so sad for your loss.
We remember you and Dave when we lived in Cape Coral on 31st St. We have great memories of you and Dave dressed in matching Santa suits and driving around the town in your vintage T bird! It made everyone smile and feel very happy! You were really wonderful neighbors.
We also remember that when we bought a Glastron boat similar to your first " Wet n Wild " Glastron, Dave very kindly offered to lead us out to little San Carlos Pass and Lovers Key to show us the navigation. When we got to the pass, Dave instructed us to get our anchor way up on the beach because the currents were so strong. While we were deciding how we could possibly accomplish that because the anchor was way too heavy to throw, Dave boarded our boat, grabbed our big anchor in his arms and jumped overboard! He then walked on the sea floor with our anchor cradled in his arms like a real live action hero, Aquaman! It was an amazing feat and one that we will always remember because it was so incredible. We hadn´t realized it then, but he was obviously almost 60 when he did this!
We have often remembered and talked about that day.
Dave was an athletic, charming, genuine, kind man, and it was a great pleasure to have him as a neighbor. You were a lovely couple.
We have now returned and retired to the Gulf coast from the other FL coast. We are living near Venice. If we can help you in any way now, please don´t hesitate to get in touch! Our email is: [email protected]
If you write a line, I´ll send you our ph numbers.
Great big hug, Clare and Tim Archer
