NEW BEDFORD -- Paul O. Davignon, 77, of New Bedford, died Friday, February 16, 2007, at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Melissa (Arruda) Davignon; and son of the late John Wilfred and Aldea (Rock) Davignon. He was born in Acushnet and lived all of his life in New Bedford. He was formerly employed by the City of New Bedford, Park Department, as a foreman, until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and attending the functions at the Senior Center at Brooklawn Park, but most of all was being with his best buddy, his dog Spice.'
Survivors include his son, Stephen Davignon and his wife Mary-Anne Tucker of New Bedford; a daughter, June Ferreira and her husband Fred of Tacoma, WA; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Dora Przymierski and Lucille Bizarro both of New Bedford; several nieces and nephews; and an uncle. He was the brother of the late Ernest Davignon and Claire LeBlanc.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League of New Bedford, 31 Ventura Drive, Dartmouth, MA 02747.
His visitation will be Tuesday 5-8 PM at Rock Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Joseph-St.Therese Church.
