Paul Davis Obituary
Dad was born on August 24, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa to
Earl Davis and Abigail (Packard) Davis.
He was united in marriage to Velma (Bowman) Davis in 1958.
To this union three children were born and survive him,
Vicki (Edward) Ailey-Roberson of Ankeny, Darrell (Vicki) Davis of Clive and Ted (Patty) Davis of De Soto.
He is also survived by grandchildren Kale (Jenn) Davis, and Garrett Davis of Ankeny, Torrie Burton, and Ashlan Burton of Des Moines.
Along with great grandchildren Mylee Davis, Laney Davis, Hazel Davis, Emmitt Davis and Elliott Davis, all of Ankeny.
He is also survived by his wife Leila.
Dad was a proud 30+ year member of the Carpenter's Union Local 106.
He was a naturally gifted craftsman in wood working as well as other areas that required precise skill set.
The last 10 years of his career was on the restoration of the State Capitol building in Des Moines, which he was grateful to do his part.
He was a member of Capital City Baptist Church in Des Moines.
He also was a 41 year member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
He was a past member of the GoodGuys Rod and Custom Assoc.
He enjoyed doing frame off restorations of vehicles, most of which he did himself.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Velma, and siblings: Vera Noble, Kenneth Davis, Inez Davis, Hubert Davis, Clifford Davis and Phillip Davis.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 5, 2025,
2-4 pm, with remarks and remembrance at 3 pm.
Saylor Township Fire Station, 211 NW 54th Ave., Des Moines.
A private family interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery on a later date.
