Paul Flaherty Obituary
Paul A. "Papa" Flaherty, 84, of Dover, New Hampshire, passed away on June 6, 2024. Born in Dorchester, MA, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Paul, formally of North Quincy, MA, and New Hampton, NH, was known for his happy, positive, kind, loving, and funny personality. Always ready with a joke, he brought joy to all who knew him.
A veteran, Paul served in the Air National Guard as a Fuel Specialist from 1956 to 1962. He was activated in 1961 and stationed at Phalasbourg Air Base in France during the Berlin Crisis.
In his career, Paul began as a Draftsman at Boston Edison in 1956 and rose to become the L Street Plant Manager in South Boston before retiring in 1996.
Outside of work, Paul enjoyed spending time with his family at his lake house on Pemigewasset Lake in New Hampton, NH.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Roberta, his children Gail Sullivan (James), Karen Flaherty, Joanne Lynch (Patrick), and Paul Flaherty (Jane), as well as his grandchildren Brendan Sullivan (Janelle), Madison Trotman (Kevin), Jillian, Devon, and Brooke Lynch, and Paul (PJ) and Jordan Flaherty, and great-granddaughter Emma Sullivan.
Paul was preceded in death by his father Thomas Flaherty, mother Dorothy Flaherty, and brother Robert Flaherty.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor the memory of Paul A. "Papa" Flaherty.

Paul was a very special friend from our days at Braintree High School. He and Roberta shared many moments of my life. He will be missed by all who knew him. I offer my condolences to Roberta and all his family.

Ah, my good friend of so many years ---- we met at BECo after my stint in the nuclear group and we had a long and enjoyable relationship. Over the years, through the re-orgs and such, we kept in touch and when he and Roberta retired, my husband and I would frequently meet for lunch with them in New London at the Flying Goose. Good friends, good memories. I will miss my friend and my prays go out to Roberta and her family.
