This is such sad news. My heart goes out to all of you, his family. I knew him in the capacity of a flight surgeon (I did transcription) and remember on Valentine's day he gave all the women at the hospital a rose. That was always such a sweet memory. RIP Paul. You brought joy.

I just received our alumni magazine from SLU and learned of Paul's death. I had the pleasure of knowing Paul in high school while running track and cross country. Four years later we meet each other again our first day at St. Louis Unversity. Paul was a gentileman and I am sure he made a positve contribution in whatever he did and whoever he met.
My families prayers are with his loved ones.

I too am a SLU classmate of Paul's. I feel so sad that we missed an opportunity to honor him at our recent 30th class reunion. He was always so kind. I will always remember his generosity towards my work in Haiti and towards the Haiti Medical Mission of Wisconsin. We will miss you Paul. Blessings to you on your loss Chris.

With great sadness Bill and I noted Paul's name among the obituaries listed in the St. Louis University medical alumni magazine. We enjoyed seeing him and catching up a bit at our 25th reunion 5 years ago; we just revisited those memories a few weeks ago when we returned to St. Louis. We regret we did not know of his passing before our most recent reunion. I can assure you Paul is fondly remembered by his SLU classmates for his winning smile, his exuberant personality, and his great dancing. More than once he graciously endured me stepping on his toes! Our sincere sympathy to his family, friends, and colleagues. May your memories bring you comfort - you will be in our prayers.
Sincerely,

Chris and the Florentino's,

March 1970 Paul threw a surprise birthday party for me in the basement of his parents house on W4th street, Brooklyn, NY.

He was my best friend in HS,and lead the charge in ALL activities. 1972 the Rolling Stones at MSG, 1975 Spring break Miami Beach. Kind, smart and lovable his energy and humor left it's mark on us all.

In 1995, at Nazareths 25 year reunion, he did not come, so after many years I stalked him and called, he agreed to call the next time he came to NY. It was my turn to surprise him, I gather all our HS Friends and did a Paul Florentino this is your life.

He is my brother, he will always be my best friend and I know he is with me always.

Luv u Paul

Dear Chris and the Florentino family, I am deeply saddened by Paul's death, but I can see from the photos and what other people have written that he loved and lived to the fullest. I would not have expected anything different from Paul. When I was friends with him at Colgate he was so friendly, easy to be with, happy, kind, caring, compassionate - I could go on and on. I'm so sorry I lost touch with him over the years. He obviously had a wonderful life and I truly hope you all find some comfort in that.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Paul's passing. During the few years we spent together at Colgate as classmates and roommates, Paul was a hard-working, fun, friendly, smart, talented and focused individual. He brightened the days of all who knew him. My condolences to all his friends and family. He will be missed.

I can only think of Paul one way - with a huge smile on his face. During our time at Colgate, he would light up the room whenever our friends gathered - funny, fun, smart, great listener, great friend...and a great dancer! It is easy to see that he carried that warmth, intelligence and, of course that smile, with him through the years. I am deeply saddened. Condolences to all who were lucky enough to have Paul in their lives, particularly Chris and the rest of his family. Joanne, Colgate '76

Dear Chris, our entire family wishes to express our sadness for Dr. Florentino's passing. Our parents, Jack and Bertine Barnes have had the great luck of knowing him personally and professionally. Our mother worked with him for many years while she was with the oncology pharmacy and he was kind enough to include them on his very short patient list. Dr. Florentino would be counted as a special person in their lives and therefore in ours. He will be missed.

i will miss knowing that Dr Florentino walks this earth, but his memory will linger with me as a man who knew how to show grace and gratitude for services rendered. His was a spirit that let you know he supported you in your efforts to serve NNMC. I look forward to seeing him again when my time comes, for a gracious God cannot but have taken him up to His bosom for the final union of which all earthly unions are but a prefiguration.
