Paul Dean Gilley, 81, of Eufaula, left this earthly life on Friday, April 29, 2022, to move to his eternal home in Heaven where he met his savior face to face. Paul was born on June 23, 1940, in Seminole, Oklahoma to Elzie Roosevelt Gilley and Letha Kemmon (Frost) Gilley. Paul grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1958. He attended OBU.
Paul met Margaret Ruth Cleek at Garrett's Lake in Shawnee, a popular swimming hole at the time. It was love at first sight for Paul and five months later Paul and Margaret were married on Nov. 21, 1959.
Paul joined the Army and served honorably for eight years.
He was chief underwriter for National Foundation Life in Oklahoma City, District Manager for MFA Insurance in Cookeville, Tennessee and then returned to serve three more years in the Army at Ft. Hood, Texas and Grafenwoehr, Germany.
Paul and Margaret, with their family, moved to Eufaula in 1981.
Paul was an agent for Farmers Insurance until he and Margaret started The Butterfly Company and traveled together doing trade shows.
Paul enjoyed fishing with his kids and grandkids and hunting with his sons and grandsons. Paul and Margaret never missed a sporting event their kids or grandkids were involved in. They loved to travel and spend time together. You never just saw Paul or just saw Margaret. It was always Paul and Margaret together.
