Remembering you all in prayer that God would grant comfort as only he can! He has promised to be with us always. Having grown up in similar circumstances, losing mother at a young age, I know it is true! God's kingdom will gather round and comfort and care for you! Leaving you all, Hanna, children, Marjorie, Kevin and all of you siblings in God's loving care!

Remembering you all in our prayers at this difficult time. May our Heavenly Father give you stength to continue in this time of great sorrow. Paul does not have to carry any pain or sorrow any more. We all wish to travel this same path putting away sin as it attaches, so we will one day reach the Glory of Heaven.
"The shore of peace and beauty
brings rest so sweet in glory;
Our griefs are ended there.
Our souls are free from care."

Dear Family,
May God comfort you and keep you in His Almighty Arms always. The passing of dear Paul, though a victory for Paul, is so terribly sad. He was such a great young man of God, and the dearest human being. It was an honor to know him. Paul's existence was a tremendous gift to all of us in church and choir and as friends. I will miss him deeply. ✝ God's Peace.

Otamme osaa suureen suruunne. Paul has been a dear friend ever since confirmation. We were both in Finland at the same time after graduating high school and Paul sang in our wedding. We have many fond memories of Paul and it was a honor to have him as a good friend.

Paul's love for music reminds me how important it is in our walk of faith. Songs of Zion uplift, comfort and carry us. Whether we are burdened or simply wanting to sing our praises to the heavenly Father, the abundance of songs and hymns reverberate in our hearts. Paul didn't want to leave his family, his love for you was so strong. But God took him from all earthly cares. Remembering you, Hanna, and all of you dear children with much love as you grieve such a deep loss... God's Peace! Kathi and Jonathan Aho and family

I always felt Paul was a blessing to our congregation from the first time he and Hanna moved here. His support for music work in our church was unwavering. He inderstood it as a form of worship. I worked with Paul directing the choirs and at music camps, and from the first I could tell God would call him to serve us as a minister. This was unfortunate because he would no longer be directing the youth choir! But still, behind the scenes,he helped on the music committee and always offered support an guidance. I sought it often, as he was unhindered with things that affect decisions, but always stuck to what mattered most for a child of God. I will miss him singing, and his counsel, his laugh and his love for his family and anyone who was struggling. Even in his last days he continued to comfort me in the trials of a child. We have infinite prayers for Hanna and family and will continue to help them in the coming days. A cute comment from a newly joined young man who is a bass singer had us laughing through tears when I mentioned all of our choir singers in the bass section... And when I got to Paul's name I said "and well ....we used to have Paul, but we will now miss his big bass sound" there was a big silence and he said "well, those are big shoes to fill, but I can try!" Oh dear Paul we will miss you! May God comfort and protect his dear wife, children and family.

I met Paul working at ETS. I had recently repented at that time and didn't really know what direction I should go in life. I thought it was right on that Paul, having just returned from Finland, would talk whatever Finn came into his mind.
Some time went by and I learned that Paul had been made a minister in one of the congregations of my church. I didn't really know what to think of that either, only that I was pretty sure it meant he could be trusted.
I'm glad that I can say, Paul was my friend.

Our condolences to your family. My heart and prayers are with you as you are working on starting this new path without a spouse, best friend and father. I am so sorry that Lydia will never get to know her father, yet happy that they did get to meet and he got to hold her.

I met Paul through the Dutch Hill Watch Dogs program. He loved volunteering at the school and serving that Community. Paul and I would also see each other at the YMCA. He had an infectious smile and a wonderful demeanor. The Judy family has loved getting to know Linda especially through student leadership activities. It has been our honor to get to know the Haataja family. We stand in support, prayer and love for each one of you.
