It is with deep sadness that the family of Paul Ka-Ga-Gi Indian age 81 announces his passing on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Rainycrest Long Term Care.
Paul was born on May 25, 1934 at Lake of the Woods, Ontario to the late Bob and Theresa Indian. He had worked at several jobs including probation officer, commercial fisherman, guide, trapper and volunteer fireman. He was also a Native Inmate Liason Officer until his retirement

Paul had a deep passion for music and was a talented musician. He played many instruments and all of them he taught himself by ear never looking at a piece of sheet music. Without question his favorite was his fiddle. He often shared fond memories of his time spent playing in The Tomahawks. The Tomahawks were a successful band composed of all family members who played countless events across northwestern Ontario in the 70's.

Paul was extremely proud and devoted to live his life by the spiritual ways and the traditional way of life. He was a well respected elder in his community and surrounding regions.

Paul truly brought life and laughter everywhere he went. In his lifetime he healed and positively touched the lives of an endless amount of people. He was an absolute blessing to everyone in his life. He will be deeply missed and his teaching will live on for generations.
Paul is survived by his sons Shaun Indian, Travis Indian and Brad Kavanaugh and grandson Shaun Jr. Also surviving is his sister Catherine Kelly and countless nieces and nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Bob and Theresa Indian and his siblings, John Indian, Louise Shebagegit, Tom Indian, Joe Indian and Stanley Indian.

A traditional burial service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 12:00 pm at the Onigaming First Nation Gymnasium. Elder Lawrence Henry will officiate followed by interment in the Onigaming First Nation Cemetery.
