Paul Jeter Obituary

KILGORE -- Services for Paul E. Jeter Sr., 79, of Kilgore, will be 4 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2006, at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Kilgore, with the Father Stephen Butts and the Reverend James Henderson and the Reverend Earl W. "Buddy" Duggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery. Mr. Jeter passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006, in Tyler. Mr. Jeter was born January 2, 1927, in Norphlet, Arkansas. He was a longtime member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, served on the vestry numerous times, and was a member of the Brotherhood of St. Andrews. He was an avid lifelong hunter and fisherman. Mr. Jeter also served as a scout troop leader. Mr. Jeter was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Ann Bass Jeter; parents, Otto and Eunice Jeter; three sisters, Lurlene Tipp, Vivian Ingram, and Shirley Thrash; brother Gerald Jeter; and grandson, William Michael Smith. He is survived by his wife, Betty Holcombe Jeter of Kilgore; son, Paul Edward Jeter Jr. and wife, Mary, of Kilgore; daughter, Jennifer J. Jeter of Austin; sister, Sybil Dick of Delhi, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Paul E. Jeter III and wife, Christy, Ashley J. Swalm, and Carina P. Jeter; three great-grandchildren, Brooke York, Hailee Swalm, and Tristen Jeter; as well as many other loving family and friends.
