Paul Macdonald Jr Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 10, 2024.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul V. Macdonald, Jr. on October 2, 2024 at the age of 67 years old. Paul carried many well earned titles in his life's journey -- a life full of joy, lessons, celebrations and special moments along the way. Beloved "Son" of Shirley and Paul Sr., Paul was born in Germany and spent his youth in Falls Church, Virginia with his siblings, Dyan, John and Donna, playing soccer and attending Falls Church High School. As a "Veteran", Paul had a call to civic duty by joining the Navy and serving his country. Following his time in the service, Paul returned home to Northern Virginia where he met his fun-loving and caring wife, Vicki, and became a devoted "Husband" when they married in 1983. In 1986, Paul became a "Dad", the most coveted title of his life. Being a father to Richard, Mitch and Shea brought Paul so much happiness and a lifetime of lasting memories. Whether being a "Coach" for Shea's soccer and basketball teams, debating current events with Richard and Mitch around the dinner table or hanging out by the pool in the backyard with friends and family, each moment was cherished as time well spent. In 2018, and later in 2022, with the birth of his grandsons, Carter and Sean, Paul became a grandpa and earned the loving title of "P-Paul". Paul, an avid reader with a dry sense of humor, was a master gardener and craftsman, loving dog-dad, history buff, and never met a debate he did not think he could win. He loved giving out advice, spending time with his grandsons and hosting holiday pool parties with Vicki - especially being in charge of the fireworks. Paul will be truly missed and we are forever grateful for his presence in our presence.
