I just saw this and want to send my condolences. I grew up in Pinole and as a child I would play with Paul and his siblings at the mansion. So many good memories and fun times and I think I still have a feather from the peacock they had

It was Paul that asked me to dance on my first visit to D&D (Denim and Diamonds in Alameda, CA) back in the early 1990s. Boy, I would have never guessed what followed. I will always think of Paul as my main dance partner. I pray that your family will enjoy the good memories of Paul and your Mom and Dad. I am glad Paul is not in pain. Love and prayers to you, Eric, Deb, and Cari Jo.

I am so sorry for your loss. I only met Paul twice, and both times found him personable, kind and respectful...with a down-to-earth sense of humor. The last time I saw him, he spoke about the family's horse with such passion and caring, like it was a friend whose personality Paul knew well. I recall he served in the military, putting his life on the line for our freedom, which always makes me appreciative and grateful. Now learning of of his many talents and interests, our short conversations have richer meaning. God bless him. May he rest in peace... and help the rest of us still here! -Karen

So many spooky nights in the mansion. Mostly brought on by spooky stories and big imaginations. I´m so sad to hear Paul has left us. I will be so honored to join you and celebrate his life.

My favorite memories of my cousin Paul are when he and Eric would visit us at my dad´s house. They always had hilarious stories to tell of their latest wild adventure. Wether it was charming their way out of a harrowing situation in some far off land or trying to convince everyone at a nearby ski resort that they were Russian tourists visiting America. I always admired Paul´s sense of humor and adventure. He inspired me to travel far and come back with good stories to share.

San Francisco, the TranSiberian railroad, Moscow, Beijing, the Islands of Greece, Cuba, driving across the USA, and last summer in Upstate NY. I had some of the best times of my life with, and in part because, of Paul. He was someone who really got joy from making people happy. It´s really what he always wanted to do. I remember when much of my family came to SF, Paul came over, ingredients in hand, and spent hours socializing, holding court, and cooking the great Mariotti homemade pasta sauce for us. He was interested in travel, politics, and history, and loved all things historical, especially the Fernandez Mansion. But the one thing he talked about the most and was most proud of, was his family. I will miss him a lot.
